Volunteer Connection

Eastern MA - Chapter News 21

The American Red Cross has officially launched Volunteer Connection, a new volunteer management system, which will transform the way people are connected to the Red Cross.
“This is a game-changer for us, the functionality of Volunteer Connection will dramatically enhance our capacity to communicate with and engage our volunteers,” said Skip Zimmerman, Director of Volunteer & Community Services for American Red Cross Northeastern New York Region. “We are part of a nationwide implementation that will bring this new system to more than 500,000 volunteers and we are very excited about it.”
With Volunteer Connection, people will be able to manage their involvement with the Red Cross by learning about and applying for volunteer opportunities that are available, scheduling volunteer shifts and being able to view the calendar of shifts and schedule of events.
It also gives volunteers the ability to build their Red Cross record by administering their own member profiles, recording volunteer hours, and registering for chapter events and disaster response shifts.
This new system makes it simpler to stay connected by downloading important files and documents, learning more about local chapters and regions, as well as communicating with other volunteers working in similar positions.
Volunteer Connection is made possible through the generous support of W.W. Grainger Inc... It will be beneficial for the Red Cross, its volunteers and the communities they serve. For more information, contact the volunteer resources department at the local Red Cross chapter.
Volunteers can start using Volunteer Connection now by logging ontohttp://volunteerconnection.redcross.org to register.
