Regional Disaster Program Officer – Tampa, FL

The RDPO is responsible for the implementation of the disaster services program throughout the region in alignment with established metrics. All disaster positions in a region have a solid line reporting relationship to the RDPO. Lead Specialist, Operations: NYC Home Fire Safety Program– New York, NY

This position serves as the Operations Specialist for a major Red Cross Individual and Community Preparedness initiative in the five boroughs of New York City.
The successful candidate will be responsible to mobilize Red Cross personnel, material and equipment assets to meet the strategic, operational and tactical objectives of the FDNY/ ARC Home Fire Safety Program partnership.  Specific functions of this position include supporting development of the detailed operational plan and implementing sustained field operations to achieve mission objectives.   Successful candidate will liaise with community groups, leadership volunteers and Red Cross leadership to achieve operational outcomes while leading and building a team of staff and volunteers to plan and implement tactical objectives.

The Response Manager plans, schedules, directs, and implements service or program overall goals and objectives.  Interviews, trains, mentors, and evaluates volunteers and employees on response teams.  Manages response to routine disaster operations.  During disaster response, ensures that services are provided according to Disaster Services policies and Standard Operating Procedures.  Assesses level of response based on Concept of Operations and makes recommendations for further deployment of resources.
