We are currently seeking a Regional Disaster Program Officer (Austin or San Antonio, TX) to work in our Austin or San Antonio, TX office. This position will work 9:00am to 5:00pm Monday through Friday, and some weekends and evenings will be required during times of business need. Travel will also be involved up to 30% of the time.

Disaster Program Manager to work in our Salt Lake City, UT

Disaster Program Manager – Greenville, NC

Job Summary: The Disaster Program Manager (DPM) is responsible for either providing functional expertise to the Regional Disaster Officer and Volunteer Leadership at a regional level or taking full cycle responsibility to provide service delivery programs within a defined geography under the supervision and authority of a Senior. DPM or Regional Disaster Officer. To accomplish this, the DPM will be responsible for the development and leadership of volunteers, as well as implementing and developing initiatives to increase Red Cross visibility through program/service delivery. Acts as a program or service subject matter expert (SME) to staff, management, volunteers and external partners. The DPM will accomplish this responsibility largely through the development, operational guidance, and support of a team of trained volunteer leaders, volunteers and partners that will stand ready to deliver/support the services of disaster preparedness, response, and recovery programs in the assigned jurisdiction. These teams will operate as part of a tiered mutual aid structure (local/regional/divisional/national), serving as the front line of support to local communities. These services include but are not limited to; response to recurrent local disasters (house fires, floods, etc.), capacity building for mass care service delivery, participation in the Home Fire Campaign, and direct assistance and recovery services to those impacted by disasters. The Disaster Program Manager performs these functions according to the guidance provided by the Regional Disaster Officer; team leadership is provided by the RDO. Disaster Program Specialist Coordinator– Minnesota, Minneapolis       
Coordinates and serves as a resource for daily operations of a Chapter program or service.  Acts as a liaison between program or service and its internal and external partners.  Some responsibilities include: Implements and coordinates the day-to-day functions that support program or service operations.  Coordinates recruitment, training, support, recognition and deployment of volunteers and staff enrolled in Disaster Services Human Resources (DSHR) system.  Collaborates with local governmental and community organizations to ensure effective preparedness, readiness and response outcomes during disaster lifecycle.  Coordinates basic, intermediate and advanced disaster and related department courses/workshops. Teaches as applicable.  Participates on small scale projects which require researching issues, information, data collection, and development of recommendations.  Collaborates and supports staff and volunteers in coordinating department’s efforts and participation in internal and external drills/exercises.  Develops workable program or service implementation plans.  Maintains records, reports and statistical data in accordance to National and Chapter standards.  Ensures completeness and accuracy of DSHR database information.   Collects preliminary client information and refers client to appropriate Red Cross and community services.  Independently resolves minor problems and issues which may impact program or service delivery or outcomes.   It is the responsibility of all Red Cross staff members to recruit, train and work with volunteers and to treat all clients, volunteers, guests, and other employees in a courteous and respectful manner at all times while maintaining a cooperative atmosphere for everyone.  It is expect that each member of the regional management team to work with a volunteer counterpart to ensure key volunteers are utilized and ensure depth within the function.   Carries out any additional assignments required to fulfill the Mission of the American Red Cross.
