The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) invites you to participate in the U.S. Customs and Borders Protection (CBP) Import Specialist Webinar from 1–2p.m. Eastern on May 22. Recent Graduates (graduation date within two years of the USAJobs posting) are strongly encouraged to attend the event.  No experience is required to be an Import Specialist. CBP will train you!
CBP Office of Field Operations is hiring Import Specialists throughout the nation to execute its mission of protecting the strength of domestic industries, addressing unlawful trade practices, and strengthening the economic competitiveness and security of our nation. Import Specialists are trained on all aspects of international trade. They use their research and analytical skills to make impactful trade enforcement decisions, address emerging threats, and ensure the facilitation of lawful trade through our ports of entry. Import Specialists are responsible for classifying and appraising commercially imported merchandise, determining which products may legally enter the country, protecting intellectual property rights, and can play key roles in criminal investigations of smuggling, commercial fraud, and counterfeiting.
This virtual event will feature an overview of CBP’s application and hiring process, a discussion on the Import Specialist role, and a panel of CBP experts will answer live questions from webinar participants.
