As an Emergency Management Specialist you will serve as the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) Liaison Officer (LNO) and Strategic Planner to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) in Washington, D.C. You will oversee the implementation of policy, plans, training and exercise programs for emergency response in support of GSA’s co-lead role for Emergency Support Function (ESF) #7 Logistics as predicated by the National Response Framework (NRF), Robert T. Stafford Act, Post Katrina Emergency Management Reform Act (PKEMRA), Homeland Security Presidential Directive (HSPD) #5, Presidential Policy Directives (PPDs), National Security Presidential Memorandum (NSPM), National Continuity Policy, Executive Order 12656, the National Contingency Plan, GSA Order ADM 2430.3 (Emergency Management) and the GSA/FEMA Memorandum of Agreement (MOA).
This position is located in the General Services Administration (GSA), Central Office, Office of Mission Assurance (OMA) in Washington, DC. This office is responsible for serving as the agency-wide lead for: continuity of operations in government; disaster policy, planning, support, and operational coordination; and special security programs. In this role, OMA integrates the full suite of agency authorities, capabilities and equities to enact and guide the development of structured programs ensuring the resiliency of GSA's mission essential functions.
