Serve as the Director, Caribbean Area Division (CAD), responsible for coordinating programmatic and functional activities in the Caribbean area with the Division Directors in the Region II New York office and Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Headquarters components.
Incumbent provides leadership, direction, and guidance to agency staff, other federal/state level departments and agencies, and senior territorial government officials in developing, planning, and implementing FEMA programs. Serves as the principal coordinator for all federal support for incidents impacting Puerto Rico and the U.S Virgin Islands.
- Responsible for the execution of CAD functions, to include response, recovery, preparedness, mitigation, grants, and closeout. Activities include operationalizing FEMA priorities in the Caribbean with emphasis on strengthening readiness and expediting outcome-driven recovery.
- Support the development and implementation of action plans to minimize risk of community lifelines disruption in Puerto Rico and U.S. Virgin Islands and maximize whole community readiness to rapidly stabilize community lifelines.
- In coordination with the FEMA Regional Administrator for Region II, provide executive oversight of Puerto Rico and U.S. Virgin Islands recovery operations, including supervising the Directors of the Puerto Rico Joint Recovery Office and the U.S. Virgin Island Joint Recovery Office.
