Tribal Webinar on Fire Management Assistance Grant Program and Policy Guide. July 16, 1-2pm ET

FEMA Hosts Tribal Webinar on Fire Management Assistance Grant Program and Policy Guide

FEMA is hosting a national webinar for federally recognized Indian tribes on the Fire Management Assistance Grant (FMAG) Program and the draft FMAG Program and Policy Guide (FMAGPPG). The purpose of the grant is to provide assistance during the incident period of a declared fire to minimize immediate adverse effects of the declared fire and to manage and control the fire.
The webinar will include background information on the FMAG Program. Topics will include FMAG authorities and funding, the FMAG declaration process, eligible and ineligible costs, and FMAG appeals. This webinar is an opportunity for tribal governments to learn and ask questions about FEMA’s FMAG Program and the draft FMAGPPG.
The 45-day public comment period for the draft FMAGPPG ends on July 31, 2020. The draft guide and accompanying comments matrix are available on the FEMA website.  Submit the completed comment matrix by e-mail to FEMA-FMAG-comments@fema.dhs.gov.
