The Governor’s
Office of Planning and Research is hiring four exciting positions to
implement key resilience priorities funded through the historic $15 Billion
2021 Climate Budget! Each of these positions will lead important work
through the Integrated Climate Adaptation and Resiliency Program (ICARP)
and be a part of the OPR Climate Team.
5th Assessment Program
Manager
The Assessment
Program Manager will serve as lead staff for the Fifth California Climate
Change Assessment and manage a dynamic and matrixed implementation team.
This is an exciting opportunity to provide leadership and innovative
creativity to ensure the Fifth Assessment is a global model in actionable,
partnership-based climate science. We are looking for a candidate with a
track record of successful program management, a deep understanding of
climate science, a collaborative team and staff management approach, and a
commitment to advancing equity in climate science and adaptation policy and
practice. This is a senior position on the ICARP team; the position is a
limited term appointment through June 2026, with potential for continuation

5th Assessment Tribal
Research Manager
The Tribal
Research Manager will serve as lead staff to advance tribal climate
research as an integral component of the Fifth California Climate Change
Assessment (Fifth Assessment), with the unique opportunity to work on an
interagency research-to-policy process. This position will be instrumental
in creating the first-of-its-kind Tribal Climate Research Program as part
of a Climate Change Assessment, as well as manage clear processes to ensure
tribal knowledge is integrated into every part of the Fifth Assessment. We
are looking for a candidate with a track record of successful program
management, proven expertise, relationships, and demonstrated success
working with and/or for Tribes, and a commitment to advancing equity in
climate adaptation policy and practice. This is a senior position on the
ICARP team; the position is a limited term appointment through June 2026,

ICARP Adaptation Planning
Grant Program Manager
The ICARP
Adaptation Planning Grant Program Manager will lead and manage the
development, implementation, and administration of a new adaptation
planning grant program. This is an exciting opportunity to build a new
adaptation planning grant program that will help fill local, regional, and
tribal planning funding needs, provide communities the resources to
identify climate resilience priorities, and support the development of a
pipeline of climate adaptation projects across the state. We are looking
for a candidate with a track record of successful program management, a
collaborative team and staff management approach, expertise in planning,
and a commitment to advancing equity in climate adaptation policy and
practice. This is a senior position on the ICARP team; the position is a
limited term appointment through June 30, 2023 based on current budget for
the program, with anticipated continuation pending future budget

ICARP Regional Resilience
Grants Program Manager
The ICARP Regional
Resilience Grant Program Manager will lead and manage the development,
implementation, and administration of a new and exciting regional
resilience program through the Integrated Climate Adaptation and Resiliency
Program (ICARP). This is a unique opportunity to build a new program that
provides the first-of-its-kind statewide funding to accelerate
regional-scale adaptation and resilience action. We are looking for a
candidate with a track record of successful program management, a
collaborative team and staff management approach, a proven track record of
regional-scale coordination and implementation efforts in California, a deep
understanding of regional governance structures, and a commitment to
advancing equity in climate adaptation policy and practice. This is a
senior position on the ICARP team; the position is a limited term
appointment through June 30, 2024 based on current budget for the program,
with anticipated continuation pending future budget allocations. Interested
