JOB DESCRIPTION
Reporting to the Director of Public Warning, the candidate will prepare and disseminate notifications, alerts, and messages for Notify NYC, the City of New York's official source for information about emergency events and important City services; Provide ongoing system monitoring; Ensure that public safety communications are properly processed; Ensure that data is correctly formatted; Perform quality assurance assessments of data; Perform testing and maintenance of notification systems; Prepare operational reports and analysis; Monitor multiple sources of information related to data telecommunications; Communicate with various agencies and organizations in order to confirm the scope and impact of data relating to incidents; Support the collection and analysis of data utilizing multiple sources of information, including GIS, in order to develop reporting systems; Participate in telecommunications testing; and coordinate special projects as assigned; assist with Ready New York presentations to external groups.

JOB DESCRIPTION
New York City Emergency Management is looking for a well-qualified person with a background in inventory management and knowledge of warehouse operations to work in the Support Services unit.
Under the supervision of the Deputy Director of Facilities & Inventory, with wide latitude for independent initiative and judgment, the Inventory Coordinator/Quartermaster will work with NYCEM’s Emergency Support Services unit, to organize and keep track of the unit’s office supplies, uniform and other various inventory.
The selected candidate will:
• Manage/organize the inventory within the Support Services unit
• Issue supplies to staff as requested.
• Issue new hires with their full complement of uniform etc.
• Maintain adequate level of the unit’s inventory.
• Research and purchase special items as requested.
• Perform periodic cycle counting of the unit’s inventory.
• Provide yearly inventory reports for the comptroller.
• Drive NYC Emergency Management-owned vehicles in support of daily operations, or to support emergency activations.
• Keep breakroom area adequately stocked with supplies.
• Operate heavy-duty warehouse equipment such as forklifts, reach trucks, pallet jacks and walkie riders etc. whenever necessary.
• Have the ability and willingness to perform strenuous physical labor when required.
• Use creative problem-solving related to inventory, often in high-pressure emergency situations.
The selected candidate will be assigned to an Emergency Operations Center (EOC) team, and will be expected to work non-business hours during emergency activations. The selected candidate will also participate in drills, exercises, assist with Ready NY presentations, and undertake special projects as assigned.
PREFERRED SKILLS
• A valid NY State driver’s license
• Previous warehouse experience and use of inventory tracking systems
• Experience managing multiple projects in a high pressure work environment
• Familiarity with MS Office programs including Outlook, Word and Excel
• Experience in managing vendors and/or third-party logistics providers (3PL)

JOB DESCRIPTION
New York City Emergency Management (NYCEM) is looking for an innovative, organized person with a background in administration and training coordination who would be able to contribute to the Urban Search and Rescue (US&R) mission. The Training Program Manager coordinates and manages the training, exercises and administrative functions of New York Task Force One (NY-TF1).
The National Urban Search & Rescue (US&R) Response System is a framework for organizing federal, state and local partner emergency response teams as integrated federal disaster response task forces. The System’s 28 US&R task forces can be deployed by FEMA to a disaster area to provide assistance in structural collapse rescue, or they may be pre-positioned when a major disaster threatens a community.
New York Task Force One (NY-TF1) is one of these 28 teams, and comprises members from FDNY Special Operations Command, NYPD Emergency Services Unit, FDNY EMS, and NYC Emergency Management.
Under the supervision of the Director of US&R, the Training Program Manager will coordinate the fulfillment of the task force’s training, exercise and administrative goals and objectives.
• Ensure that all team members complete training requirements as outlined by FEMA and that their records are effectively maintained in the personnel database.
• Maintain a tracking log and supporting documentation for all training activities.
• Track and reserve all travel arrangements for team members attending trainings.
• Ensure quality management (assurance and control) of the personnel database.
• Serve as primary liaison to training coordinators from each participating agency.
• Ensure the task force is operating in accordance with training and exercise guidelines and directives set forth by the FEMA US&R Branch office and is prepared for triennial evaluation established in the FEMA Annual Readiness Evaluation program.
• In concert with Director of US&R, prepare and submit training reports according to FEMA guidelines and directives.
• Support the task force with various administrative projects.
• At the direction of the Task Force Representative, deploy with NY-TF1 as the NYCEM Agency Representative.
The selected candidate will be assigned to an Emergency Operations Center team. Team members are on call 24/7 for three weeks, off for six weeks, and then the cycle repeats. Members are expected to work non-business hours during emergencies while on call, and periodically while off call for large-scale incidents. The selected candidate will also participate in drills and exercises, assist with Ready NY presentations to external groups, and will undertake special projects as assigned.

• Superior editing and written communications skills with consideration of audience, layout, and usability

• Experience managing multiple projects in a high-pressure work environment
• Strong project management skills and a demonstrated ability to deliver complex projects within specified deadlines
• Experience navigating complex documents and providing edits and suggestions
• Excellent evaluative and decision-making skills with appropriate follow-up
• Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to work well within a team structure
