Assistant Planner, Wildfire Resilience and Recovery
OPR is hiring an Assistant Planner, Wildfire Resilience and Recovery, to support OPR’s recover efforts in response to the devastating impacts of recent wildfires, with specific focus on incorporating climate resilience into long-term recovery planning and implementation. This position will be an integral part of a cross-agency team working to support wildfire affected communities throughout the state, while also helping provide resources to proactively mitigate future wildfire risk and support regional resilience efforts. This is a two-year, grant funded position.
 
Applicants should have working knowledge of climate adaptation and resilience and an interest in grant management. A commitment to working as part of a team, excellent written and verbal communication skills, a commitment to social and racial equity, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced, political environment are highly desirable.

Associate Planner, Climate Equity and Resilience
OPR is hiring an Associate Planner, Climate Equity and Resilience, to advance the Integrated Climate Adaptation and Resiliency Program’s work to support community resilience. This position will serve as lead staff for the development of an open, accessible, and community grounded mapping platform that holistically identifies the communities in California that are most vulnerable to climate impacts. This position will also lead community engagement and partnership activities, ensuring this work centers the experience and needs of communities most impacted by climate change. This is a two-year, grant funded position.
 
Applicants should have a strong background and working knowledge of climate adaptation and resilience, community and stakeholder engagement, and an understanding of co-production research and partnership models. A commitment to working as part of a team, excellent written and verbal communication skills, GIS or data analysis experience, a commitment to social and racial equity, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced, political environment are highly desirable.
