The Climate Change & Health Equity Section in the Office of Health
Equity seeks three candidates who are passionate about building health
equity, advancing climate action and racial justice, and improving living
conditions through policies, systems, and environmental changes.
Candidates from historically under-represented communities are highly
encouraged to apply. CDPH has participated in the Government Alliance for Race
and Equity (GARE) for four years, and is implementing its Racial and Health
Equity Plan, addressing issues such as hiring, retention, workplace culture,
recruitment pipelines, programs, polices, and more.

Climate Change and Health Equity Specialist
The Climate Change and Health Equity Specialist will provide health equity
tools, technical assistance, and input to a variety of other State agencies
developing climate change solutions in the areas of land use, transportation,
housing, energy, income and jobs, natural and working lands, emergency
preparedness, and air and water quality. The position will be based in
Sacramento, CA (when no longer telecommuting due to COVID-19). There may be
some continued opportunities to telework.
The position pays $5,656.00 - $7,080.00 per month.

Local Health Department (LHD) Climate Change Program and Policy
Specialist
The LHD Climate Change Program and Policy Specialist will support California
local health departments to prepare for and prevent the health impacts of
climate change, improve social determinants of health, and meet existing health
program objectives through engagement with climate change policy and planning.
This position will be based in the Climate Change Local Assistance Unit of the
CDPH Climate
Change & Health Equity Section. The position will be based in Richmond,
CA (when no longer telecommuting due to COVID-19). There may be some continued

The position pays $5,656.00 - $7,080.00 per month.
