Job Summary: We are currently seeking a Disaster Program Manager of Government and Community Partners (LA) to work in our Baton Rouge or New Orleans, LA office. This position will work 8:00am to 5:00pm Monday through Friday, and some weekends and evenings will be required during times of business need. Travel will also be involved up to 30% of the time.

Illinois Disaster Corps Manager – Chicago, IL

Job Summary: The Illinois Disaster Corps Manager is responsible providing functional expertise to the AmeriCorps Program Director, Regional Disaster Officer and Volunteer Leadership at a regional and divisional level, or may take full cycle responsibility to provide AmeriCorps service delivery programs within a defined geography under the supervision and authority of a Senior DPM or Regional Disaster Officer. To accomplish this, the Disaster Corps Manager will be responsible for the recruitment, on-boarding, training, development and leadership of Illinois Disaster Corps AmeriCorps members, as well as implementing and developing initiatives to increase Red Cross visibility through program/service delivery. Position acts as a program or service subject matter expert (SME) to staff, management, volunteers, and external partners.  The Illinois Disaster Corps Manager will accomplish this responsibility largely through the recruitment, development, operational guidance, and support of a team of trained AmeriCorps members, volunteers and partners that will stand ready to deliver/support the services of disaster preparedness, response, and recovery programs in the assigned jurisdiction. These teams will operate as part of a tiered mutual aid structure (local/regional/divisional/national), serving as the front line of support to local communities. These services include but are not limited to; response to recurrent local and state disasters (house fires, floods, etc.), capacity building for volunteer and donations management service delivery, participation in the Home Fire Campaign, and direct assistance and recovery services to those impacted by disasters.
The Illinois Disaster Corps Manager performs these functions according to the guidance provided by the AmeriCorps Program Director under the guidance of a DDD/DDSRD and local RDO. The position reports to the DVP and receives personnel development from the DVP and SVP of Disaster Cycle Services.
