Illinois Disaster Corps Manager – Chicago, IL

These teams will operate as part of a tiered mutual aid structure (local/regional/divisional/national), serving as the front line of support to local communities. These services include but are not limited to; response to recurrent local and state disasters (house fires, floods, etc.), capacity building for volunteer and donations management service delivery, participation in the Home Fire Campaign, and direct assistance and recovery services to those impacted by disasters.

The Illinois Disaster Corps Manager performs these functions according to the guidance provided by the AmeriCorps Program Director under the guidance of a DDD/DDSRD and local RDO. Recovery Manager – Madison, WI

Job Summary: This position is responsible for the implementation and provision of the disaster recovery program for the Wisconsin Region. The disaster recovery program includes disaster case management and health, mental health and spiritual care services for those recovering from a disaster. Leads and manages a primarily volunteer team.  The Wisconsin Region serves 1,500 to 2,000 households per year with immediate assistance and disaster recovery support. Most of these households are impacted by residential fires but we also help following floods, tornadoes, wildfires and other disasters. Interim Regional Preparedness Specialist – Chicago, Illinois

Job Summary: The Interim Regional Preparedness Coordinator will coordinate and serves as a resource for daily operations of a Chapter program or service. Acts as a liaison between program or service and its internal and external partners.  Provide support, development and/or leadership guidance to all volunteers.  The successful candidate will assist in supervising the Disaster Action Team (DAT) program for the Chicago and greater Chicago area. Carrying out of the response duties will require signing up for regular shifts, some overnight providing support, development, and operational guidance to a team of trained volunteer leaders, volunteers, and partners.  Will participate in the implementation and development of initiatives to increase Red Cross visibility through program/service delivery.  Individuals must be customer-oriented, organized, and able to operate with an orientation toward solutions with an external focus, and team orientation. 

Administers local tailoring and implementation of a comprehensive community preparedness program that engages volunteers and other disaster-cycle employees in getting their communities prepared.  Coordinates and serves as a resource for daily operations of a Chapter program or service.  Acts as a liaison between the program or service and its internal and external partners.  Achieve target outcomes derived from national, state, and Regional preparedness metrics.  * This is a temporary position (approximately 12 weeks) with no benefits.
