Fiscal Year 2023 Nonprofit Security Grant Program Technical Assistance Webinar Series

The Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) Grant Programs Directorate (GPD) invites nonprofit organizations to participate in upcoming webinars regarding the Fiscal Year (FY) 2023 Nonprofit Security Grant Program (NSGP). The NSGP provides funding support through a competitive process for facility hardening and other security enhancements to nonprofit organizations at high risk of a terrorist or other extremist attack and promotes emergency preparedness coordination and collaboration between public and private community representatives, as well as state, local, tribal, and territorial governments.

FEMA is committed to providing quality customer service to all nonprofit organization stakeholders, including socially vulnerable, underserved, and under-represented communities. With this goal in mind, GPD is offering the following informational NSGP webinars for all nonprofit organizations interested in learning more about the FY 2023 NSGP priorities, eligibility, and application process.

For all attendees, it is strongly recommended that you review the existing NSGP resources available at https://www.fema.gov/grants/preparedness/nonprofit-security prior to the webinar, particularly the “How to Apply” section of the NSGP Subapplicant Quick Start Guide. These resources are intended to assist readers in understanding the program and requirements in plain language. Familiarity with this material will improve attendees’ experience in the upcoming webinars.

All sessions will be the same and will cover:

  • Program Overview
  • Key Changes from FY22 to FY23
  • Application Process Overview
  • Key Tools and Resources
  • Question and Answer

The vulnerability self-assessment tool, as well as other helpful safety and security information for nonprofit organizations, can be found at the Hometown Security website at www.cisa.gov/hometown-security.

Prior registration is required. Please only register for the webinar(s) you plan to attend to ensure others have a chance to register and participate. If you are unable to join or the event is at capacity, please join the next available offering. All webinars will cover the same content. The free Adobe Connect app is not required to join or participate in the webinar, but participants are welcome to download and use it. It is recommended that participants use the desktop app as opposed to the mobile app to more easily access materials. If you choose to utilize the app, please ensure you have completed the installation prior to the webinar. NSGP webinars are NOT recorded.

If you have any questions regarding these webinars, or require special accommodations, please contact FEMA-NSGP@fema.dhs.gov.

FEMA Lays Foundation for Strategic Plan: Engages Stakeholders and Initiates Efforts to Instill Equity, Increase Resilience and Readiness Posture

FEMA Administrator Deanne Criswell announced the agency’s progress on its 2022-2026 Strategic Plan and its posture for the year ahead.

FEMA SP

FEMA completed the first year of its 2022-2026 Strategic Plan, developing stakeholder informed, actionable plans that build the foundation needed to achieve our ambitious goals. During this planning phase, the agency also identified and executed immediate actions that could be taken to bring us closer to each of these goals.

“We are proud of the progress we’ve made in becoming the FEMA our nation needs and deserves and look forward to building on this foundation for years to come.” said Criswell. “In coordination with our partners, we are finding ways to better support the diverse communities that we serve and prepare for the increasing complexity of disasters.”
