February is Black History Month, a time to celebrate the
contributions of African Americans to the fabric of the United States. Black
people have helped shape the nation in various ways, influencing every sector of
society. But rates of chronic diseases and conditions on average remain
significantly higher for African Americans, resulting in poorer quality of life
and lower life expectancy. This February and beyond, the Office of Minority
Health encourages you to make smart health decisions that will help you live
longer, healthier and happier. Visit our website for Black
History Month resources you can use year-round.
