September 8, 2017. Louisiana. Flood Claims Process for Louisiana Following Tropical Storm Harvey

WASHINGTON DC — To support the ongoing disaster recovery in Louisiana, the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) is temporarily enhancing the flood insurance claims process for insured survivors affected by Tropical Storm Harvey.
Due to damages caused by Tropical Storm Harvey, FEMA implemented temporary changes to rush recovery money into the hands of NFIP policyholders in Louisiana, for repair and replacement of flood-damaged properties. As of September 4, FEMA directed all NFIP private insurance partners to:

In response to the flooding associated with Hurricane Harvey, FEMA has authorized a special NFIP Adjuster Claims Presentation for adjusters who were not able to attend a regular 2017 presentation. Authorization & Renewal
Adjusters seeking to renew authorization must attend an NFIP Adjuster Claims Presentation. Adjusters seeking to become authorized must attend an NFIP Presentation and apply for authorization with the NFIP Bureau and Statistical Agent, iService. NFIP standards and requirements for adjuster authorization may be found in the Adjuster Claims Manual at www.fema.gov/library/viewRecord.do?id=1584.
