How States Pay for Natural Disasters in an Era of Rising Costs

This report outlines the role states play in paying for disasters and key findings about the approaches they take to budgeting for natural catastrophes. CDP Coronavirus Training Material Now Available Online

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Center for Domestic Preparedness (CDP) posted four new coronavirus (COVID-19) training videos. The first video provides an overview of COVID-19, to include information about its symptoms, diagnosis, treatment and prevention. The second video includes information about about barrier precautions and controls for the virus. The third provides information about the movement and transport of suspected and confirmed COVID-19 patients. The final video is about treating patients in non-healthcare settings. All four COVID-19 training videos are available on YouTube.

Healthcare and other responders now have a number of additional resources they can turn to, to help them identify and treat those exposed to COVID-19 as well as learn how to safely move and transport patients suspected or confirmed to be infected with the virus.

FEMA’s Center for Domestic Preparedness has posted on YouTube four COVID-19 training videos it recently created. 

The first video is about 8 minutes long and provides an overview of COVID-19, to include information about its symptoms, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention.

The second video is about 22 minutes long and provides information about barrier precautions and controls for COVID-19.  

The third video, which is about 10 minutes long, is focused on moving and transporting patients suspected of or confirmed to have COVID-19.

The fourth video is titled ‘Precautions and Controls During Home Care of Patients with Known or Suspected Exposure to COVID-19.’  It is seven minutes long and includes information about treating patients in non-healthcare settings.
