ReliefWeb Response goes live. humanitarian coordination platform

ReliefWeb Response (RW Response) is a specialised digital service of the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA). This service is part of OCHA's commitment to the humanitarian community to ensure that relevant information in a humanitarian emergency is available to facilitate situational understanding and decision-making. It is the next generation of the Humanitarian Response platform.

ReliefWeb Response (RW Response) is our next-generation humanitarian coordination platform and is replacing HumanitarianResponse.info.

RW Response will focus on aggregating operational content from existing platforms and will provide an authoritative source of information in new and existing humanitarian operations. As the name suggests, the platform will be strongly integrated with existing ReliefWeb services.

The integration leverages ReliefWeb content management expertise and technology to ensure that humanitarians can share, find and re-use critical information quickly and efficiently.

In June 2022, a working prototype of the RW Response platform was launched in the ReliefWeb Labs environment. Labs projects explore new and emerging opportunities to improve information delivery to humanitarians. During the Labs phase, the RW Response team used user research, usability testing and website analytics to improve the platform.

Some of the new features and improvements include:
  • Enterprise search;
  • Multilingual support for English, French and Spanish;
  • Table of contents option to enable in-page navigation;
  • Adjustments to the look and feel of the site.
We are now ready to graduate from the Labs environment and officially launch the new RW Response platform.

We will continue actively working with clients and use their feedback to improve the service. The end result will be a stronger service for everyone.

Please do get in touch (feedback@reliefweb.int) with your comments and suggestions.
