Human Trafficking Awareness Toolkit for Tribal Gaming and Hospitality Industry
Your Invitation Wednesday, June 7, 2023 12:00pm-2:00pm. ROLE OF FAITH COMMUNITY IN ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP: From Climate Change Mitigation to Disaster Relief, Response and Recovery
Welcome! You are invited to join a meeting: THE BLUE ECONOMY - National Caribbean American Heritage Month. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email about joining the meeting.
Dear Colleagues: \ As we celebrate Caribbean Blue Economy Week, I thank you for agreeing to join our Roundtable Dialogue on the Role of Faith Community in Environmental Stewardship. As climate changes continues it is vital that we in the Caribbean diaspora take a more strategic approach to how we engage the diaspora. Over the years, since Gilbert, ICS has been engaged in supporting various relief and recovery efforts, with community leaders like Loughton Sargeant, Director of DC Carnival and Image Band who has served as a defacto point person for the DC Metro region. We at ICS believe that the Caribbean American Faith Community could be much more engaged in the process. The goal of this conversation is to explore how the faith community sees the role of environmental stewardship and how we might work with the leaders in the faith community to develop a more robust community response at all stages of the ecosystem from climate change mitigation to disaster relief, response and recovery.
