Now - August 21

Mayor Bowser is seeking at least 51 Pastors/Faith Leaders from the Ward 7 and 8 faith community to encourage Ward 7 and 8 residents to go as soon as possible to the Dorothy Height/Benning Road Library in Ward 7 to get the Pfizer or Johnson and Johnson vaccine, or to Anacostia High School in Ward 8 for the Pfizer vaccine. A small stipend will be provided for each “Vaccine Influencer.” The specific amount of the stipend will be determined by the total number of faith leaders who participate.

The Mayor is seeking to get as many people vaccinated at the Dorothy Height Library and Anacostia High School by August 21. As the Mayor’s office has been advertising, each person who receives a vaccine at either of those sites by August 21 will receive a $51 gift card. Anyone in the DMV (including Pastors/Faith Leaders) who brings DC residents to get vaccinated will also receive a $51 gift card for each person that meets them at the vaccine site (up to 11 people—each person must get the vaccine).

You may begin immediately referring people to the two vaccination sites mentioned above and sign up to be a Vaccine Influencer. If others from your congregation/organization are also willing to serve as a Vaccine Influencer, please have them register separately. Click https://forms.gle/6oBYuYAvdqokEDnT9 to sign up as a Vaccine Influencer and provide your name, e-mail, telephone number, church/ organization, and Ward. Separately, we are also seeking to determine who is scheduled or planning to host your own vaccine clinics. Please use the link above to share that information as well.

This is the information we have from the Mayor’s office at this time. We will provide more details as they become available. There will also be an opportunity to discuss the initiative at a joint online Ward 7 and 8 meeting this Saturday, August 14 at 10 am. You will receive a separate invitation to that meeting
