UN Women's 10th Anniversary Dear Friends, 10 years ago, on 2nd July 2010, the UN General Assembly voted to establish UN Women to accelerate progress in meeting the needs of women and girls worldwide. Given the current COVID-19 realities and the unprecedented times we are in, we have decided to keep the marking of our anniversary low-key, with more opportunities for commemoration next year.
