Two-part Key
Fundamentals of Flood Insurance Webinar
This webinar is a two-part course on FEMA's National
Flood Insurance Program. It brings participants the latest information
on the NFIP, including instruction on the NFIP’s pricing methodology –
Risk Rating 2.0: Equity in Action. Created for insurance agents with CE
varying by state, others are welcome
to attend, but CE credit is not available. Attendees must complete both
sessions in order to cover all topics required by the Flood Insurance
Reform Act (FIRA) of 2004.
Claims adjusters seeking registration with the National
Flood Insurance Program (NFIP), or anyone who wants to learn more about
the flood insurance claims process, can register for a claims adjuster
presentation. Multiple webinar dates are scheduled for 2023. Click here for more information and
additional dates.
Flood risk and flood loss data can help potential
property owners make informed decisions and help current property
owners consider potential mitigation actions. However, flood disclosure
varies from state to state and often is not easily or publicly
accessible. Hear about two projects changing the face of disclosure: TX Buyers Be-Where, from Texas A&M
University, and HazardAware, a project supported by
the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine, Gulf
Research Program.
Continuing education (CE) credit is not available for
viewing recordings.
FEMA recently released examples showing the cost of
flood insurance for single-family homes under Risk Rating 2.0, using
data from single-family policies renewed before Sept. 30, 2022. The
exhibits will be updated and revised once all policyholders have
renewed their policies under Risk Rating 2.0. Click the image above or here
to access the data.
