The
application window for the 2024 USDA 1890 National Scholars Program opened on
December 15, 2023 and the deadline for applications is March 1, 2024!
This
Program provides educational and career opportunities for U.S. citizens seeking
bachelor's degrees from an 1890 Land Grant University.
The scholarship provides
full tuition, fees, books, room and board to students with a GPA of 3.0 or
higher pursuing degrees in agriculture, food, natural resource sciences, or
related academic disciplines.
Scholars are also eligible for summer internships
that may convert to full-time employment with USDA after graduation.
Scholarships for Students at 1890 Institutions (1890 Scholarships) Program
The 1890 Scholarships Program is intended to provide scholarships to support recruiting, engaging, retaining, mentoring, and training of undergraduate students at the 1890 land-grant institutions, resulting in baccalaureate degrees in the food and agricultural sciences and related fields. The scholarships are intended to encourage outstanding students at 1890 institutions to pursue and complete baccalaureate degrees in the food and agricultural sciences and related fields that would lead to a highly skilled food and agricultural systems workforce.
