$14,000 stipend with NAACP, Adobe Editing Fellowship program. Kickoff in LA May 28-31, 2024

NAACP, Adobe launch Editing Fellowship program

The NAACP has partnered with Adobe to launch a new Editing Fellowship program to increase diverse representation in the post-production industry.

The 14-week paid fellowship is for individuals who have some experience with video editing and includes training, mentorship, and hands-on workplace experience. The program includes an intensive week-long retreat to launch the fellowship in Los Angeles, industry mentorship pairing, craft conversations led by notable industry experts across disciplines, and up to four workplace rotations within the NAACP Content Team and with Oscar-winning post-production house Parallax. Additionally, fellows will receive a three-year subscription to Adobe Creative Cloud All Apps plan. Selected participants will be awarded a stipend of $14,000.

Applicants must be available to come to Los Angeles to participate in the kickoff week, May 28 to 31, 2024 (travel expenses will be covered for non-local participants) and must be available to work part-time for 14 weeks as an NAACP Editing Fellow from May to August 2024.

To be eligible, applicants must have one to two years of training or experience with editing as an assistant editor or non-union editor, have basic proficiency with a professional non-linear editing tool (preferably Adobe Premiere Pro), and expect work rotation duties to be performed exclusively with Adobe Creative Cloud. It is the continuing policy of the NAACP to take affirmative action to assure equal opportunity for all current and prospective employees, and applicants from historically marginalized communities are encouraged to apply.
