The Greater New Orleans Foundation invites applications for the Norco Community and Economic Development funds.
Donor advised funds of the foundation, the Norco Community and Economic Development funds were formed as a result of a $6 million gift to the Norco community from Shell to improve the quality of life, both socially and economically, of people in Norco.
Norco Community Fund (NCF): Supports services for children and youth that empower young people in Norco to be active participants and/or leaders in the life of the community, services that ensure older adults in Norco are connected to beneficial services, and social services that support all Norco community members, individuals, and/or families meet their basic needs.
Norco Economic Development Fund (NEDF): Aims to increase the success and competitiveness of Norco-based business and enhance prosperity and quality of life for the Norco community. The fund provides support for local businesses and job creation/training needs/workforce development to position members of the Norco community for economically vibrant careers.
The funds will only consider support for programs that serve the Norco community and its residents, with priority given to organizations and programs that are located in the Norco community. Grants generally range from $10,000 to $50,000.
To be eligible, applicants must be nonprofit organizations.
