Society of Environmental Journalists. Webinar Reminder - THURSDAY - Covering Climate, COVID-19, and the Economy: Is a Green Recovery Possible?

As COVID-19 continues to consume our daily lives and economies, governments and leaders are calling for a “green recovery.” The vision is bold, but will it work?

With economies opening up and emissions once again rising, we face decisions about infrastructure, industry, and regulation that will have enduring impacts on our climate and our health. What do journalists need to know to cover these decisions and help the public understand the options and tradeoffs?

Join us this Thursday, July 16 from 1-2 PM ET, for an #SEJ2020 webinar for journalists seeking a report on the connections between climate, COVID-19, and the economy, and the potential for a green recovery.

All journalists welcome.

This webinar will be recorded and available on our website a day or two after the event.

Speakers:
·     Anne L. Kelly, Vice President of Government Relations, Ceres
·     Jonathan Pershing, Program Director, Environment, Hewlett Foundation, and former Special Envoy for Climate Change, U.S. Department of State
·     Justin Worland, Correspondent, Energy & Environment, TIME Magazine

Moderator:
·     Nick Sobczyk, Reporter, E&E News

We’re looking forward to welcoming you back to one of our Cell Symposia in the near future. To ensure the safety and well-being of our speakers, attendees and staff, we’re implementing tailored onsite protocols at each of our Cell Symposia venues. Examples of these measures include the reduction in delegate handouts, alternate catering options, social distancing and hand sanitizing stations.
Rest assured, we will continue to monitor the situation closely, and will refund your registration fee, with no penalty, should you wish to cancel your registration at any time during the uncertainty of the outbreak.
