Meet the Mind Behind the Smile Project, BFAB, & More!

Maybe you've been lucky enough to stumble upon a canvas like the one above; on a park bench somewhere around Boston, or elsewhere. If so, this one's for you!

On October 21st @ 5:00PM, EDT, join special guest Bren Bataclan and host, Enrico E. Manalo, for a conversation about art, books, and FilAm (Filipino American) identity, as seen through the lens of the immigrant experience.

Bren Bataclan is the artist behind The Smile Project (featured on TEDxTalks), a project driven by the concept of kindness! While he is most well-known to the Boston community as an artist, he is also known to some of its Filipino and Filipino American residents as the founder of the Boston Filipino American Bookclub (BFAB), which has been regularly meeting since at least 2007.

On October 21st @ 5:00PM, EDT, join Enrico E. Manalo and Bren Bataclan as they explore the power of art, books, and the challenges of finding your way and figuring out who you are—as an immigrant yourself, or as the child of immigrants.

Don't miss out on this chance to ask Bren Bataclan and Enrico E. Manalo your questions on how art, books, and friendship can help us to find meaning AND push for greater equity on October 21st @ 5:00PM, EDT!
