Serve on EPA’s First-Ever National Environmental Youth Advisory Council! The National Environmental Youth Advisory Council is an exciting new opportunity for young people between the ages of 16-29. These passionate leaders will provide advice and recommendations to EPA Administrator Michael Regan on EPA’s efforts to address environmental issues as they relate to youth communities.  As part of EPA’s commitment to environmental justice, at least 50 percent of NEYAC’s membership will come from, reside primarily in, and/or do most of their work in disadvantaged communities (as defined by the federal government’s Climate and Economic Justice Screening Tool).  Selected applicants who become members are appointed to NEYAC for a two-year term.  Ready to Apply? Training Opportunity: Virtual Train-the-Trainer. CERT Basic Training. Serve as a CERT Basic Training Instructor

 

CERT Train-the Trainer (K0428) This course prepares participants to deliver the FEMA’s CERT Basic Training course. Except for the two in-person options, all classes will be delivered in a completely virtual environment, via Adobe Connect. Familiarize yourself with Adobe Connect before the class. Students will use a course link to enter as guests. No Adobe Connect account or download of Adobe will be required. The audience for this course includes those who will have or currently have either of the following responsibilities: Serves as the course manager for the CERT Basic Training course or serves as a CERT Basic Training course instructor. All classes, except where noted, meet online from 1-5 p.m. Eastern time three days a week for two consecutive weeks. Students must attend all sessions. For more information read more here

USDA OIG Investigations Investigators from the USDA Office of Inspector General (OIG) collaborate frequently with other agencies to combat fraud, waste and abuse. Here are recent investigations in which USDA OIG played an integral part. More investigations. Seven Defendants Sentenced to Federal Prison in $11.5 Million Fraud Case Seven defendants were sentenced to federal prison for their involvement in a scheme to defraud the U.S. Department of Agriculture out of more than $11.5 million that was intended to benefit farmers who had been discriminated against.
