Training Opportunities. COOP training change from Independent Study to Classroom Only.

In an effort to improve Continuity of Operations (COOP) training, FEMA NCP has decided to change the delivery method from Independent Study (IS) to classroom only for the following courses. Student and Instructor evaluations have highlighted the lack of peer interaction and the lack of contribution to the larger body of knowledge through shared experiences with IS courses.

Effective 1 October 2016 – The following Independent Study (IS) courses will no longer be available online:

IS 524 – Continuity Planner’s Workshop
IS 526 – Mission Essential Functions (MEF) Workshop
IS 545 – Reconstitution Planning Workshop
IS 548 – Continuity Program Manager’s Course
IS 550 – Continuity Exercise Design Course
IS 551 – Devolution Planning Workshop

The courses listed above will be conducted in a classroom setting only.
In the interest of making classroom courses more available, we are lowering the minimum number of students for local delivery from 15 to 8.

Washington, D.C. selected for the Rockefeller Foundation 100 Resilient Cities Program Final Round.

Will the selected Chief Resiliency Officer for D.C. report to the Mayor or those that submitted the application to the 100 Resiliency Cities Program?

Washington, D.C. 100 Resilient Cities Program Challenge. LACK OF AFFORDABLE HOUSING, and HOMELESSNESS should be at the top of the list. Overall terrorism is a criminal activity and is handled by over 3/4 of the the federal agencies and other law enforcement offices in the city, from the FBI, CIA, DIA, Federal Protective Service, D.C and neighboring police offices and combined FUSION CENTERS.

Poor Transportation System currently being addressed at a cost of billions of dollars mandated by the U.S. Dept of Transportation due to mismanaged maintenance plans and scheduling. But the price of transportation costs for average worker that lives outside of the city continues to rise as is affordable housing.

No one discusses RENT CONTROL
