The
MRC Program is excited to announce 2019 National Disaster Medical System (NDMS)
training opportunities for MRC participants!
The National Disaster Medical
System (NDMS) has invited the Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) to participate in
Disaster Medical Assistance Team (DMAT) 101 trainings conducted at the Federal
Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Center for Domestic Preparedness (CDP) in
Anniston, AL.
Attendees will gain valuable technical knowledge and have
the opportunity to increase communication and collaboration with NDMS teams
from across the country.
DMAT
101 training will occur in austere conditions (strenuous, outdoors
during high temperatures), and all applicants must meet medical and physical
requirements as stated in application.
Trainings
are open to MRC state coordinators, unit leaders, and volunteers; however,
space is limited. Travel expenses (that is, travel cost to/from CDP, lodging,
and meals while at CDP) and travel arrangements will be handled by NDMS for all
participants.
If
you are interested in attending one of the trainings listed below, please
review, complete, and submit the attached application to Moji Obiako, MRC
Regional Liaison, via e-mail at Moji.Obiako@hhs.gov.
The closing date for
all applications is Tuesday, July 9, 2019, at 5 pm ET. We sincerely
apologize for the abbreviated notice and understand some may have committed
summer plans.
The following training course and dates are being offered to
