Black Community Food Security Network Food Warriors Youth Development Program Assistant Site Coordinator
This is a 12-month contractual position. The rate of pay is $15.00
per hour for a maximum of 20 hours per week.
Applicants must submit to a State of Michigan and Federal criminal
background check. Must have experience working with children.
Must be able to relate well to youth, teachers, administrators and
parents. Must have some knowledge of the food system, and urban
agriculture. Must have basic knowledge and understanding of African
and African-American history and culture. Must have excellent
organizational and communication skills. Must be reliable, accountable and
a team player. Must have access to reliable transportation.
Education and Outreach Director in facilitating weekly Food Warriors
sessions at the two Food Warriors’ sites.
Leadership Academy (formerly Timbuktu Academy of Science and
Technology)—Mondays & Wednesdays 3:30pm-6:30pm
Shrine of the Black
Lead lessons and
activities at both sites.
Assist with garden
maintenance at both sites.
inventory of tools and equipment at each site.
Assist with the
building and repair of raised beds at each site.
heavy lifting may be involved.
Other duties as
Reports to DBCFSN
Education and Outreach Director.
