Around the world, coronavirus variants
continue to complicate the fight against COVID-19. In Brazil, healthcare
workers are struggling with the P.1 variant of the virus, which spread
rapidly around the country in early 2021 and caused a spike in hospitalizations.
To help protect Brazil’s frontline healthcare workers, the CDC Foundation
is supporting a research project to gather data on infection rates among
hospital workers. Implemented by the University of São Paulo School of
Nursing, the research project is part of an initiative aimed at
preventing the spread of COVID-19 at 10 hospitals in São Paulo and
Manaus, epicenters of the P.1 variant.
Search. Find. Help. is a searchable online
library that connects organizations serving
community-dwelling older adults and their caregivers to
resources during public health emergencies. This new
resource is supported by the CDC Foundation.
The CDC Foundation is engaging with the business
community to discover how private sector employers address
prevention and management of chronic disease in their workforce
and what can be done to support employers in this area.
The CDC
Foundation and Anthem Foundation are partnering with
community-based organizations to support their pandemic response in
communities around the country. Grants to these organizations are
focused on COVID-19 prevention and vaccination tools and resources
