Farms. Stronghold. Anacostia. Wards 7 and 8 are home to some of the
most prolific communities in Washington, DC. The DAP Project, the
award-winning podcast from Rhonda Henderson and Aaron Stallworth, is
dedicated to preserving the stories, voices, and experiences of Wards 7
and 8-based Washingtonians as citywide development lands east of the
river.
The Dap Project brings curiosity about the Black man’s nuanced gesture
to the Anacostia Arts Center in a multi-media exhibit. The exhibit
highlights the literal coming together of hands and the metaphorical
extension of love for the community through photos and interviews.
“Dap is a Love Language” invites viewers to appreciate
the familiar greeting and consider how, just like we do, dap exists in
multitudes.
