We hope that you can join us in this important discussion. Should you have any questions, you may contact the Legal Preparedness Action Package’s Executive Secretariat at: ghsalpap@georgetown.edu.
Background:
On behalf of the Global Health Security Agenda (GHSA), the Legal Preparedness Action Package is conducting a webinar series aimed at facilitating technical discussions with experts across sectors and disciplines to provide World Health Organization (WHO) Member States (MS) currently negotiating the amendments to the International Health Regulations (IHR) and the WHO CA+ with greater technical background and perspectives that could help build their understanding on various key topics emerging from these negotiations. Considering the limited time that countries have to research these issues in-depth, this webinar series can help provide sufficient background to develop informed positions on two important international legal preparedness instruments.
The webinar series would cover topics with legal and non-legal aspects based on the Working Group on Amendments to the IHR (WGIHR) and the Intergovernmental Negotiating Body (INB) meeting timelines and agendas. Each would cover multiple topics and would be approximately 2 hours long. The Legal Preparedness Action Package would work with other Action Packages to plan those topics requiring cross-collaboration. GHSA’s Advocacy and Communications Task Force would facilitate the Zoom connection. The agenda will be circulated a week prior to the webinar with specific times provided to allow individuals to join for specific sessions if needed.
To the extent possible, to maintain neutrality, speakers will be limited to experts from non-governmental sectors.
Warm regards,
GHSA Indonesia Secretariat
