FEMA is hosting the first of a series of webinars in celebration of 2023 FEMA Partnership Month Reimagined. 2023 Partnership Month Reimagine 2023 is a celebration of the power of collaborative relationships in emergency management. 2023 Partnership Month Reimagined provides an opportunity for FEMA, National Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (National VOAD), and other non-government organization partners to engage with each other and to enhance the mutual understanding of disaster assistance resources, capabilities, and mechanisms. In 2023 Partnership Month has been reimagined to host a series of events throughout the remainder of the year. The events align with FEMA’s commitment to harnessing the power of community as encapsulated in the Guide to Community Engagement, 2023-2027 FEMA DEIA Strategic Plan an initiative in support of FEMA’s 2022-2026 Strategic Plan.
The webinar will provide FEMA’s Public Assistance program resources for private non-profits. The program provides supplemental grants so that communities can more quickly respond to and recover from major disasters or emergencies.
The webinar, co-hosted by FEMA’s Voluntary Agency Liaisons and the DHS Center for Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships, covers:
- How the Public Assistance program supports houses of worship and private non-profits in times of disaster.
- How to apply for Public Assistance grant funding.
- Lessons learned when applying for Public Assistance grant funding.
- Best practices and lessons learned from Public Assistance program representatives and national nonprofit partners.
