PREPAREDNESS AND CLIMATE CHANGE  FAIR RESCHEDULED FOR OCTOBER 14

The Emergency Preparedness Task Force of the Southwest Neighborhood Assembly, (SWNA) known as SW Strong! is hosting “All Hands on Deck – A Climate Action & Disaster Prevention Festival.” Although previously scheduled for September, the event was postponed due to Tropical Storm Ophelia and will now take place October 14 adjacent to the Southwest Farmer’s Market.

The fair receives generous support from Friends of Southwest, as well as other organizations such as Serve DC, the SW BID, Ward 7 Resilience Hub, HealthBest Services, Inc., DC Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster, and We the People Community Health Workers Corps.

The fair will feature over 30 organizations and include booths and a program of speakers. For instance, the Matriarch of the Piscataway-Conoy Indian Nation will do the Land Acknowledgment at 9:00 a.m.

The full program and list of participants is at https://swna.org/swna/task-forces/emergency-preparedness/
