DHS Holds Listening Sessions on DHS Environmental Justice Program This month, CRCL and the DHS Office of the Chief Readiness Support Officer hosted listening sessions with external stakeholders and Tribal leaders on the Department’s Environmental Justice Program. DHS convened the listening sessions to provide information about the Request for Information (RFI) DHS posted to the Federal Register, which closes on February 16, 2024. The RFI is seeking public comment and feedback on how environmental justice is considered Department-wide, how it can provide opportunities for meaningful engagement in decision-making that impacts human health and the environment, and what to include in the next DHS Environmental Justice Strategy.
