Action. A Month of Action March 2021: National Black United Front. Women's History Month Circle of Women Feminine Hygiene Drive.

 

 


Dear Community Partner,

 

The National Black United Front, a service based grassroots organization focused on collective work, would like to extend the invitation for you to partner with us for our Women’s History Month Circle of Women Feminine Hygiene Drive. The drive will take place throughout the month of March. After all supplies have been secured, the supplies will be delivered to the following organizations:

 

a.             Excel Academy

b.             Harriet Tubman Women’s Shelter

c.             Calvary Women's Services

d.             Additional shelters with an identified need in the DMV Metro area

 

 

Your responsibilities as a community partner would be:

1.    Confirm your participation as via email no later than February 23, 2021

2.    Provide a high resolution jpeg or png version of your logo

3.    Share the initiative flyer on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, & Twitter every Monday at 10 am throughout the month of March

4.    Share the Amazon wish list via social media and email every Wednesday throughout the month of March 

 

Please note, the flyer and link will be sent after confirmation of participation.

 

What you would receive in return:

1.    The opportunity to positively impact the lives of dozens of vulnerable women in some of the DMV’s most challenged communities.

2.    Your company will be listed as a co-sponsor on all promotional materials, highlighting your solidarity for the movement to provide free access to women's personal care products.

3.    A copy of the contact list of registrants and donors will be provided.

4.    A chance to network with other civic minded, philanthropic and professional organizations and individuals.

Just Released! Local Climate Change Snapshot Tool

 

 

The Cal-Adapt team recently released the new Local Climate Change Snapshot Tool, which allows users to access a suite of basic climate change variables for a location of interest in a single interface.

 

This tool is designed to be widely useful for applications like municipal planning, grant applications, climate adaptation advocacy, and climate science education.

Disaster Response. Townhall Meetings. March 31, 2021

 

 

EJ and Natural Disasters Town Hall Meetings and Disaster Response Training 

 

The Federal Interagency Working Group on Environmental Justice is hosting a series of virtual Town Hall Meetings on disaster response. The regional West and Southwest meeting will feature the impacts of wildfire and COVID19 on environmental justices communities. More information about the meeting, including time and registration, will be shared at a later date.

The California Governor’s Office of Planning and Research (OPR) and the California Strategic Growth Council (SGC) are seeking summer interns to work remotely on a variety of projects to advance the Governor’s policy and planning priorities. Interns will gain skills in policy research and writing, land use planning, local government outreach, interagency coordination, legislative analysis, and more.
