I was listening to a webinar this morning, hosted by
students and advocates for addressing hunger on college campuses. Their work
extends to communities which experience food insecurity.
They displayed a map of the 3,300 counties
that make up the U.S. and made the point that only 68 counties, on average, are
populated with Americans who make a living wage. The rest, which means pretty
much the entire rest of the U.S. is dominated by people who cannot afford their
basic needs.
